Roar, Dandelion, Roar!

Toothy, edible pickle-green bowls pop-up through the carpet
delighting the earth with texture, happy yellow caps, and sustenance.
Every toddlers' favorite sky fairy; lunch for the finch, the deer, and Elton--
Roar, Dandelion, Roar!

Weird

"Don't go weird on me,"
Husband said.
OH! How I laughed! You know it's too late!

Too Careful

If you are too careful, one day you will awaken and be old realizing you missed living.

Divining Rod

Like a divining rod
in the sky
Wild geese flying
honing in on their home water.

Sounding their flying song like
a marcher's chant,
Encouraging, challenging, directing.

Dancing Tree

I sit at the kitchen table and gaze out the window, coffee in hand.

The wizard tree is placid today, but the dancer! Oh!

She leans back slightly with her arms raised in front of her. She kicks up her leg so high!

The day is gray and dismal, yet she dances anyway.

I shift my eyes ever so slightly and blink.

She maneuvered so quickly I didn't see it! Now her arms are posterior with her leg swung up behind. How does she do that?

The dance has begun. Dare I join?
